The largest rugby tournament in North America, which has seen several generations of players and their families dating back to 1974, is inviting those ground-breaking pioneers to “Come home to the Can-Am” this summer in Saranac Lake.

Shuttle buses will be running between Saranac Lake and Lake Placid this year on Saturday night between 8 pm and 1 am! Buses will be running approximately every 30 minutes.
The CanAm Rugby Tournament is pleased to be hosting the 3rd Annual Quad Rugby Tournament for Friday, July 31st and Saturday, August 1st at the 42nd Annual Can-Am Rugby Tournament in Saranac Lake.
Wheelchair rugby was developed in Canada in the 1970’s by athletes with quadriplegia, and after being presented as a demonstration sport at the Atlanta 1996 Paralympic Games, it made its debut as a medal sport at the Sydney 2000 Paralympic Games. Search “Murderball” on YouTube to learn more about the sport. The sport is now practiced in more than 25 different countries and includes men and women on the same teams. Two teams of at least four players each compete for four periods of eight minutes each.
